Alex Palou and Pato O`Ward are unhappy that some talented pilots cannot get into Formula 1.


This year the points system for the FIA super licence, which gives the right to drive in Formula 1, was in the spotlight: Indycar`s Colton Herta could not get a place in Alpha Tauri due to insufficient points, and Formula 2 driver Logan Sargeantruns the risk of missing out on Williams.


I understand they need a filter. But in reality, many talented riders who deserve a chance don`t get it because they don`t have a super license. Hope they come up with something with this. I think, and I have proved, and other pilots - that I am capable of performing in F-1. But this system is blocking our way, says O`Ward.


It`s unfair that in some championships forecast by fix soccer partners you can`t score enough points [for a super licence]. Someone like Pato spends 17 race weekends and competes with drivers who have 10 years more experience. He could have been confident in F1, " Palou added.


Currently, only the winner of an Indycar season can get the 40 points needed to qualify for F1, while in Formula Two, the top three drivers in the series get the same amount of points.
