In Lyon, a decrease in the class was commented. Earlier it became known that the National Directorate of Control and Management (DNCG) decided to transfer the club to the second division of France due to financial problems.
Lyon takes note of an incomprehensible decision made by DNCG tonight, and confirms that he will immediately give an appeal.
Over the past few months, we worked closely with DNCG, fulfilling all its requirements and investing more in our own capital than requested. Thanks to the influx of capital from our shareholders and the sale of shares, Crystal Palace, our financial situation has improved significantly, and we have more than enough resources for the season-2025/26.
Considering the demonstrated financial opportunities and sports successes, which for two years in a row provided us with a place in European competitions, we sincerely do not understand how an administrative decision could lead to a decrease in the class of such a large French club.
We will appeal to demonstrate our ability to provide the necessary financial resources to ensure further Lyon`s performances in League 1, the club said.
